I’ve been experimenting with sensory play activities in my classroom, and I can’t believe the emotional growth I’ve seen in my little ones. Recently, we did a rainbow rice exploration that not only engaged their senses but also encouraged them to express their feelings through colors and textures. I’d love to hear what sensory activities you all find most effective for fostering emotional development.
I love the rainbow rice idea! We’ve had success with water beads too; they’re super calming and great for emotional expression. Have you tried adding scents to your sensory bins?
Sensory bins are such a great tool for emotional expression! I recently added a few drops of lavender oil to our playdough, and the kids loved how it calmed them while they created. Have you thought about scents to enhance your activities, @claire_p88?
I’ve found using sand with different tools encourages creativity and fine motor skills. Have you thought about adding some small animal figures to the rice for storytime?
